Jean-Paul Beaubier, also known as Northstar, is a mutant superhero in Marvel Comics. He is known for his incredible speed, ability to fly, and the power to generate blasts of light.
Northstar made his first appearance in Uncanny X-Men #120 (1979). Alongside his twin sister, Aurora, he was a founding member of Alpha Flight, Canada's premier superhero team.
A key aspect of Northstar's history is his status as one of the first openly gay superheroes in mainstream comics. This representation has been a significant part of his character, adding depth and complexity to his narrative. He would eventually marry Kyle Jinadu.
